Reusable content block
A reusable content block is an additional feature to content blocks to help you reuse content. When you have a block of content that has to appear on multiple pages, you can make on reusable block for this to be abke to edit the content once, for multiple pages. For instance, if you have some general information about working at TSG and this must be visible on all job pages, you can create a reusable block for it.
Adding a reusable content block
To create a new content block go to Reusable block > Add reusable block in the admin. On the screen you can addd two elements:
Title: this is for internal reference only. The title will help you recognize the block later. but is never displayed in the front end.Content blocks:here you can add all content blocks you can add in a regular post as well. See Using content blocks for all information about it. You can add one or more blocks, which will all be displayed when the reusable block is added to a page.
Display reusable block on another page
No it is time to show the block on a page. In the example above, the block is used for general information on a job page. If you want to create this, go to the job where you want to use the block.
- Go to the
content blocks sectionon the edit pages of the post, page, product, activity, job or case. - Add the content block
Reusable content blockto the page. - When the block is added, you will see a field where you can select the content block that you’ve created before.
- Select the
desired reusable blockand save the page. - Add the block to each page where you want it to appear.
Editing content in a reusable block
If you go back to Reusable blocks in the admin, you will see a list of all reusable blocks. On the edit page of a block is a section in the sidebar containing a list of all pages where the block is used. Whenever you make a change to a reusable block and save the changes, all pages that contain the block will get updated with the new information.
