Content block Product Categories

For linking to Products and product categories on an Activity page, a special content block is created, called Product Categories. It can be used on any page with content blocks, but its main purpose is to show related content to an Activity. To fill the content of this block, follow these steps, more info on how to add a content block can be found on the page Using content blocks.

1. Go to the edit screen of the Activity you want to use the block
2. Add the block Product Categories as the last block to the Activity page
3. Enter a title and optional short description, which will display above the product categories
4. Next, click the button Add Category to add categories to the block. You can add multiple items in the list.
5. In each item you can do the following.
   1. Select a child product category. A child category can be recognized by the – in the front of the name. If you do not have product categories, make sure you fill these first, following this manual: Implement new product categories.
   2. The next option in each item is Which products should be shown in this category. Here you can define which product are shown under the product category. You can either choose to show all products that are linked to the product category you’ve selected in the step before. Or you can choose to select your own products
   3. If you choose to select you own products, an additional field is shown. In this field you will see all available products on the left side. By clicking a product in the left column, it will move to the right column and is selected to display in the content block. Optionally you can drag the selected product in the right column to change the order.
   4. Perform step 1 to 3 for each product category you wish to show on the page.
   5. Save the page and check if the block shows correctly.
   6. If you are not seeing a selected category, it has no linked product. Make sure you link products to the category, or select products for this item manually.
   7. If the product category has no image, make sure you add one in the chosen product category.
