Adding and editing a document, PDF upload and linking a document to a product
Documents are shown on products pages and on the Documents overview page. Documents can be categorized in the same categories as there are activities. On this page you will learn how to fill a document.
Add a document
In the dashboard navigate to Documents > Add New
- Fill in the name of the brochure as title. The title is not visible on the website, but choose a name with which you can identify the document easily.
- In the
Documentsection, enter the specific information for this document.- Specify the title and sub title of the document
- Select a preview image for the document. This image is shown on the documents overview
- Choose the
PDF filethat corresponds to this document. When a visitor clicks the link to download the brochure, this file is downloaded. You can upload a pdf by yourself, this is explained later on this page.
- Select a category in
Categoriessection on the right side. You can select more then one category, the brochure will show up in different filters on the Document overview page. How you can add and edit a category is explained later on this page. - Preview your post by clicking the
Preview buttonin thePublish sectionon the top right of the page.
Publish a document or saving it for later
After you have filled in the content and reviewed the document it’s time to publish it. You can do that by clicking on the publish button on the right. If you don’t want to publish it just yet you can save it by clicking the Save Draft button on the right. If you want the document to be published in the feature, or set the date in the past see Publish options for post types.
Before publishing the document, please make sure there is a file attached to it. When no file is attached, no download link is shown on the pages.
Manually changing the url of a document
In the document edit screen you can see a field called Permalink right below the Title field. The permalink is the url of the document. After you have set the title of the document, the Permalink is created automatically. If you want to change the permalink, you can do this by clicking the button Edit next to the permalink. You are able the make changes in the section of the permalink that is specific to this document.
Only change the permalink of a post that is not published yet. When you change the permalink of a published document, the original permalink stops working and will lead visitors to a 404 not found page.
Edit a Job
When you want to make changes to a published document, you can go to the document in the Documents overview or visit the document in the frontend and click on Edit document in the Topbar. When you’re finished making changes, make sure you click the Update button to save the changes. If you want to see the changes before updating the document you can also click the Preview changes button in the Publish section. A new window will open showing the document with your changes.
Categories
Categories can be attached to a document. You can add a category in the Categories section on the right side of the edit page.
Add and edit a Category
If you need a new Category go to Documents > Categories in the Admin menu. On this page you can add a new Category with the form on the left. When you want to change an existing category, select one from the list on the right. You will see an edit page for the Category. The only field that is used on the Document overview page is the Name of a category.
The categories should correspond with the available activities on the website. So only create categories for the available activities.
Uploading a PDF file
You can upload a PDF file yourself to attach to a brochure. If you click on the button Add file under Select Document in the Document section, the Media Library opens in a popup. If the PDF is already uploaded you can select it here.
When the file has to be uploaded first you can do this in two different ways:
- Find the file on your computer and drag it in the Media Library popup. The media library will turn blue and show the message
Drop files to upload. When you drop the file, it will be uploaded to the media library of your website.

Upload filesin the Media Library popup. You will see a screen where use can click a button to open the finder of your computer and select the PDF you want to upload. Select the file and upload it to the website.

After you have uploaded the file select it in the Media Library popup and click the Select button in the bottom right corner. The file is now visible in the Select document field. Please make sure you save the changes to the document when you’re done editing.
