Google News SEO
To enable the News SEO Sitemap, head to SEO > News SEO in the admin bar. If you visit this page the first time, you can setup the specifics for the Google News sitemap. On top of the page you will find a link to view your News Sitemap. Whenever you are going to setup Google News, you will need this url. The list of news articles in the sitemap may be empty. It only shows links for posts published in the last two days.
Setup the news feed
General Settings
- You can enter a name for the publication in the field ‘Google News Publication Name’
- Set the default genre for the type of news articles. You can specify the genre at each post if it is different then the default genre.
Post Types to include in News Sitemap
- Select the post types that should be added to the news sitemap. This should be at least ‘Post’, since this post type contains the news. You can also add Cases or, Jobs. The other post types are not suited for the news sitemap.
Save the changes after you’ve se the option.
