Create form with whitepaper download
Whenever you need to create a form to download a whitepaper you can perform the following steps. First of all, you can create a form with the needed fields, or copy a form from the master website.
To make sure the file can only be downloaded after the form is submitted you can use a text confirmation of the form, instead of a redirect. In this case you can make sure the file is not available on a publicly visible page. You can create a confirmation like this with the following steps:
- First of all, upload the whitepaper file in the Media library, or make the file publicly avaibable on a cloud storage location. Copy the url to the file.
- Go to the Form Settings and then to the tab
Confirmations. Edit the default confirmation or create a new one. - In the confirmation make sure the
Confirmation Typeis set toText. - Add a message in the Message box. End with a line of text that says something link ‘Download whitepaper’. Select the text and create a link with the link button from the text editor. Paste in the copied link to the download file. Optionally change the setting of the link to make sure it opens in a new tab.
- Finally place the cursor somewhere in the link text and click the
Formatssection in the text editor option. SelectButtonto format the link as a button.
Now you can test the form by placing it on a page and enter the fields. Whenever you submit the form you will see the confirmation with the button to download the whitepaper. An example of this setup can be found in the Master website:
